About this category
This page serves consumers checking a tax amount and sales or business users reviewing VAT-exclusive or VAT-inclusive prices. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Oman have separate calculators so a rate from one jurisdiction is not applied to a transaction in another.
The calculator performs the add-or-extract arithmetic only. Deciding whether a supply is standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt, or outside scope depends on the country rules and transaction facts.
Compare every tool
Choose by the question and inputs you have, not only by the name of the result.

Pricing a new invoice
- Identify the country and supply classification.
- Enter the pre-tax price in add mode.
- Check rounding and invoice requirements with the authority.
Reading a VAT-inclusive receipt
- Select the country.
- Use extract-from-total mode.
- Compare with the printed VAT amount; do not multiply the inclusive total by the rate alone.
Comparing two GCC prices
- Use each country calculator separately.
- Convert currencies outside these tools if needed.
- Compare pre-tax prices too, so the entire difference is not attributed to VAT.
Important terms
- VAT-exclusive price
- Supply value before VAT is added.
- VAT-inclusive price
- Final amount containing both the base value and VAT.
- Zero-rated supply
- A taxable supply at a zero rate when legal conditions are met; it is not the same as exemption.
- Exempt supply
- A supply on which VAT is not charged under an exemption; input-tax consequences may differ.
Recommended order
- 1Identify the jurisdiction and place of supply.
- 2Verify classification and effective rate from the authority.
- 3Choose add for an exclusive price or extract for an inclusive price.
- 4Reconcile the result with the invoice and rounding policy.
Assumptions and warnings
- A default rate does not prove that a transaction is taxable at that rate.
- Registration, returns, input tax, and invoicing are outside this simple calculation.
- Real-estate, cross-border, and digital transactions may require separate analysis.
