Salary Increment Calculator

This tool helps you calculate your new salary after receiving a raise, whether by percentage or fixed amount.

GOSI Impact

When your salary increases, your total GOSI employee deduction (GOSI + SANED) increases by 9.75% of the raise amount (9% annuities + 0.75% SANED). This tool calculates your actual net increase after deductions.

Example

If your salary is 10,000 SAR and you get a 10% raise, your new salary is 11,000 SAR. But total GOSI deduction increases by 97.50 SAR, making the net increase 902.50 SAR/month.

Calculation Methodology

New salary calculation

For percentage raises, the calculator uses raise amount = current salary × percentage. For fixed raises, it adds the amount directly to current salary.

Social insurance impact

When the GOSI option is enabled, the calculator estimates the effect of the raise on employee deduction using the rate built into the tool, then shows the net raise after deduction.

What is excluded

The calculation excludes income tax, variable allowances, bonuses, and contract-specific differences. Use it for an initial comparison and verify against your official payroll slip.

Practical Examples

8% Percentage Raise with GOSI Impact

Fatima's current salary is 10,000 SAR and she received an 8% raise. Raise amount = 10,000 × 8% = 800 SAR. New salary = 10,800 SAR. Current GOSI deduction = 10,000 × 9.75% = 975 SAR. New = 10,800 × 9.75% = 1,053 SAR. GOSI increase = 78 SAR. Net monthly increase = 800 − 78 = 722 SAR (8,664 SAR annually).

Fixed 1,200 SAR Raise with GOSI Impact

Khalid's current salary is 7,500 SAR and he received a 1,200 SAR raise (equivalent to 16%). New salary = 7,500 + 1,200 = 8,700 SAR. Current GOSI deduction = 7,500 × 9.75% = 731.25 SAR. New = 8,700 × 9.75% = 848.25 SAR. GOSI increase = 117 SAR. Net monthly increase = 1,200 − 117 = 1,083 SAR (12,996 SAR annually).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the typical annual raise in Saudi Arabia?
Typical annual raises in the private sector range from 3% to 5%, though competitive sectors like tech and finance may offer 6-10%. Saudi Labor Law does not mandate a specific annual increase; it depends on company policy and individual performance.
How does a raise affect GOSI deductions?
The total GOSI employee deduction increases by 9.75% of the raise amount (9% annuities + 0.75% SANED). For example, a 1,000 SAR raise increases the deduction by 97.50 SAR, making the net increase 902.50 SAR.
Is the raise calculated on basic salary only?
This depends on company policy. The raise may apply to basic salary only or to the total salary package. Check your employment contract or company internal policy for specifics.
How to negotiate a salary raise?
Prepare a file of tangible achievements, benchmark your salary against market rates, and choose the right timing such as the annual performance review. Focus on the value you bring to the company rather than personal needs.
Does a raise affect end of service gratuity calculation?
Yes. End of service gratuity is calculated based on the last actual wage. Any salary increase raises the gratuity amount because it is calculated on the final salary at the time of termination.
